#1 Easter Egg Hunt - 2012
This was Trent's third year participating in our neighborhood Easter egg hunt, and Claire's second (although she did attend a third hunt when she was a only a couple weeks old). They both had fun and did great, as did the other 20-some kids. We even had a parent dress up like the Bunny and come say hi!

new years eve 2011
This New Years Eve Kevin and I took Trent and Claire to Jude's house for a little New Years Eve celebration. There were hats and noise makers, confetti and sparkling juice. We celebrated the "new year" at approximately 10:00pm, then we went home.

Christmas 2011
I am determinted to talk about Christmas before Frbruary!
On December 3rd the mom's group we're a part of had a Christmas party for the children. We had pizza & cider & cucakes, and we did a wreath craft. It was great. All but one family were in attendance.
Also on December 3rd we went to cut down our Christmas tree at Pine Valley Farm.
later that night we decorated the tree.
On December 6th I took the kids to see a ridiculous santa at our local library. It began with a few stories, then Santa came in, then a craft. The santa was skinny and not the most personable santa i've ever met.
I made a few holiday shirts
On December 23rd we built a terrible gingerbread house
On Christmas Eve we had Grandmom and Aunt Christina over for lunch and presents. Later that night we went to Mommom and Grandpa's house for dinner and a gift exchange.
On Christmas Day we opened presents at home and had breakfast. We went back to Mommoms and Grandpa's house in the afternoon. And we went to see extended family in the evening.

4th of July 2011
The 4th of July is always a great day, mostly because it means Kevin will be home with us all day. This year we decided we'd let the kids stay up as late as they could handle. We killed some time by playing in Claire's room:
Eventually we couldn't wait any longer - we took our sparklers and went outside well before the sun went down. Claire wouldn't go near the things, and Trent was very hesitant and leery of them:
Finally the sun started to go down. By now Trent refused to touch the sparklers:
Since there was little interest in the sparklers were decided to catch lightening bugs for the first time. Trent enjoyed trying to find them and catch them, but when we presented a lightening bug to him he had no desire to hold one himself. Kevin brought out a jar with a hole-y lid to put a bunch in - the only problem was that jar was still damp and the poor bugs were getting stuck in the water drops. I couldn't bear to see them struggle so I helped each bug out. Trent let us sit a bug on his finger once but Mommy was just too slow on the button (shame on me):
Sparklers were a bust. Catching lightening bugs was a short lived adventure. The noise of the fireworks scared the kids. The pretty colors of the fireworks captured their attention but it wasn't enough to distract them from the booms. Bottom line, we weren't outside long and they were both snoozing before the fireworks reached their finale.
